Chester and Push, a pair of bonded best friends, on the day they arrived at the rescue. They were orphaned and on this day we would like to think the white “sparkler” on the right is Jeff making sure that these beautiful horses will be taken care of for as long as they live. We feel Jeff’s spirit everyday.

Chester & Push Horse Rescue was inspired by two senior horses in search of a forever home. They had lost their owner and his final wish was to find them a home where they could live out their golden years together. The day they arrived they brought Jeff’s spirit along with them, we feel his presence every single day. As a registered charitable 501 (c)(3) Chester & Push Horse Rescue is dedicated to rescuing orphaned, neglected, abused or slaughter bound horses providing them a safe loving environment for them to thrive.

Chester & Push Horse Rescue provides shelter, feed, veterinary care and Farrier services for their horses and relies on the generous support of donors, volunteers, sponsors and grants.

Chester & Push Horse Rescue was founded by Sharon Robinson, a nurse, and Mark Hanson, a builder, who reconnected at a class reunion and are now engaged to be married. They both have a special connection with each other through the love of horses and both have spent a lot of time riding growing up in Castro Valley.

Our mission is to offer equine therapy programs that will enhance the quality of life for those suffering from PTSD, depression, autism and other illnesses.

Chester & Push Horse Rescue is an advocate for horses in need of rescue, rehabilitation & adoption.
