The Chester & Push Horse Rescue Experience

What you’ll do

Upon arrival to our beautiful Chester & Push Horse Rescue, you’ll be greeted by your host & Founder Sharon. She will bring you over to greet our 16 horses, while listening to heartfelt stories that lead them to being rescued. Feel their unconditional love while learning how they are enhancing lives of those with PTSD, depression, autism, an other illnesses.

Jump in and participate with their feeding, watering, cleaning, and grooming. Feel the theraputic connection . Horses hearts are five times the size of your heart & have a powerful therapeutic healing when you are in their presence.

Looking for an emotional getaway?

If so, you may have a very special experience where you may join one of the horses in the round pen and feel the strength & majestic beauty of these amazing souls. This does not happen every day, but when one of our horses feels that someone is in need of some healing or rediscovering their true self, they may offer this to you. It is a very magical one-of-a-kind experience not to be found anywhere else in Sonora.

					  Horse lover or not, Sharon and Mark’s horse rescue ranch is a must-experience if you’re near Sonara. Our experience was perfectly complemented by learning about a horse rescue and experiencing... read more the horses and other animals around the ranch (I.e. grooming and riding a horse; learning about each horse’s rescue story and the relationships between the animals). Sharon was very personable. We felt welcomed from the moment we met her. Mark treated us to a lunch at the end of our stay. We will definitely visit again when we are back in Sonora in the future.

Guest requirements

You’ll need a photo that matches the one on your ID to confirm who’s actually going on this experience.

Guests ages 5 and up can attend, up to 8 guests total. Parents can also bring children under 2 years of age.

Guests should feel comfortable in a farm like environment (walking on grass, flat dirt services, etc.) wear sturdy shoes.

Meet your Host, Sharon

My fiancé Mark and I are Founders of the Chester & Push Horse Rescue. Together we share a love for horses.

Our non-profit is inspired by two senior horses, Chester & Push, who lost their owner Jeff. His final wish was to find them a forever home where they could live out their lives together. When they arrived they brought his spirit with them and we feel his presence every single day.

Our mission is to create equine therapy programs that enhance the lives of those suffering from PTSD, depression, autism and other illnesses. We help save horses, and in return they help save us 🙂

We’re an advocate for horses in need of rescue, rehab and adoption. We give them shelter, food, vet care and Farrier services and rely on the generous support of donors, volunteers, sponsors and grants.
